Decomposition of graphs into cycles of length seven and single edges

چکیده
Given graphs G and H , an H-decomposition of G is a partition of the edge set of G such that each part is either a single edge or forms a graph isomorphic to H . Let φH(n) be the smallest number φ such that any graph G of order n admits an H-decomposition with at most φ parts. Here we study the case when H = C7, that is, the cycle of length 7 and prove that φC7(n) = n/4 for all n ≥ 10.

On Edge-Decomposition of Cubic Graphs into Copies of the Double-Star with Four Edges
A tree containing exactly two non-pendant vertices is called a double-star. Let $k_1$ and $k_2$ be two positive integers. The double-star with degree sequence $(k_1+1, k_2+1, 1, ldots, 1)$ is denoted by $S_{k_1, k_2}$. It is known that a cubic graph has an $S_{1,1}$-decomposition if and only if it contains a perfect matching. In this paper, we study the $S_{1,2}$-decomposit...
متن کاملOn the decomposition of Cayley graphs into isomorphic trees
We prove a theorem about the decomposition of certain n-regular Cayley graphs into any tree with n edges. This result implies that the product of any r cycles of even length and the cube Qs decomposes into copies of any tree with 2r + sedges.
متن کاملOn the cyclic decomposition of circulant graphs into almost-bipartite graphs
It is known that if an almost bipartite graph G with n edges possesses a γlabeling, then the complete graphK2nx+1 admits a cyclicG-decomposition. We introduce a variation of γ-labeling and show that whenever an almost bipartite graph G admits such a labeling, then there exists a cyclic Gdecomposition of a family of circulant graphs. We also determine which odd length cycles admit the variant la...
متن کاملDihamiltonian Decomposition of Regular Graphs with Degree Three
We consider the dihamiltonian decomposition problem for 3-regular graphs. A graph G is dihamiltonian decomposable if in the digraph obtained from G by replacing each edge of G as two directed edges, the set of edges are partitioned into 3 edge-disjoint directed hamiltonian cycles. We suggest some conditions for dihamiltonian decomposition of 3-regular graphs: for a 3-regular graph G, it is diha...
متن کاملOn list vertex 2-arboricity of toroidal graphs without cycles of specific length
The vertex arboricity $rho(G)$ of a graph $G$ is the minimum number of subsets into which the vertex set $V(G)$ can be partitioned so that each subset induces an acyclic graph. A graph $G$ is called list vertex $k$-arborable if for any set $L(v)$ of cardinality at least $k$ at each vertex $v$ of $G$, one can choose a color for each $v$ from its list $L(v)$ so that the subgraph induced by ev...
